Police force work experience?

I am in year 12, planning to study criminology at university.
I want to do some work experience in policing (i’m 18) but I am struggling to find my way through it, I don’t know where to look.
If not policing, then possibly work with victims of crime.
Any advice or ideas?

Hi,
From what I can find, some local police offer work experience/volunteering on their websites (such as Kent Police and West Midlands police) but this might be a seasonal thing but you may be able to contact them to find out more. You don't really need to look for work experience in the police for this course, as long as what you do get can have the skills linked to what you will be learning. You can possibly look at doing work experience with charities or possibly helping out in court where you can shadow clerks/judges/barristers. You can find out more here https://www.prospects.ac.uk/jobs-and-work-experience/work-experience-and-internships
Hope this helps!
