What are some alternatives to wearing heels and a dress for graduation?

Please don't say a suit/shirt (not my style) or flats (i'm too short and feel uncomfortable). Are boots usually allowed?

Check the dress code. I wore Doc Martens to my graduation (Uni of Glasgow).

Black trousers/skirt with a black or white shirt would be your safest bet.

It depends heavily on the uni Oxbridge and similar have got pretty prescriptive dress codes on your “subfusc” (what you wear under your gown). Check their website or your invitation for details.Boots would usually be fine but might be too warm at the moment.

A jumpsuit or pantsuit is a stylish and comfortable option. You can dress it up or down with accessories.
It is important to choose an outfit that is both comfortable and stylish. You will be standing for a long time during the ceremony, so you will want to make sure that you can walk and move easily
