I'm about to start my GCSE's this September, so I need a bag. I'm looking for it to be able to sustain all of my stuff (textbooks, exercise books, notebooks, pencil case e.t.c - I'm an overpacker). But I still want it to be reasonably aesthetic and trendy; anything but a plane Nike backpack. Maybe a tote bag? Any suggestions?

I'd definitely go for something comfy. I'm an over-packer too, so I love a rucksack to save my shoulders. Vans have some nice patterned ones - I personally love anything animal print. They're not too pricey, but you can always look at their outlet stores too.
I also think a tote bag is a great idea, especially if you've got lots of books/folders. Etsy have some really nice bags if you want something unique or personalised, but most high street shops have some cute designs. One of my favourites is Monki, which is also online, for some great prints!

Herschel Supply Co make really nice backpacks. I've got an ochre colour one that's 30L and it comfortably fits all my stuff in it. It's reasonably affordable too at like £40.

For my GCSEs I used a plain green adidas backpack but at times it wasn't big enough for all of my things. I am now in sixth form and I use a bigger blue Timberland backpack that has a laptop sleeve which is very useful for holding textbooks. It is quite plain and I got it from an outlet store for just over £30, most Timberland backpacks are £40-£50.
