How do you find an internship before university?

Hi, I have just finished year 12 and I am looking for internships/work experience during my gap year after exams in year 13.

I have been researching and looking for internships and it seems everything is for university students either during their summers or for a year mid-way through their course.

I have to take a gap year for immigration status purposes and I would like to do something industry relevant so I can put that on my university application, however, I can't seem to find anything.

I am looking to take a mathematics and computer science joint honors. Does anyone know of any internships/work experience opportunities that I can do in my gap year with very little experience other than A Levels and extracurriculars?

Hi! Little late but if you're still looking I know that EDT does STEM work placements tailored for students taking gap years after A-levels 🙂 They're typically long term (12 months) and are paid as well! https://www.etrust.org.uk/the-year-in-industry
