Good economics books?

I’m currently applying for sixth form and want to take economics, but I have never studied the subject before. The sixth forms say no prior knowledge is expected but I’d like to have a bit of knowledge, so I was wondering if there were any short but insightful beginner economics books I could read? This would also be really useful for the interview.

It depends on the exam board which you will learn from. I have the Pearson Edexcel A level text book but that was given to me by the school. It is a fat book i won't lie, probably weighs 2/3 kg's, and it costs £45. But I would suggest finding summary videos of Adam Smith's 'The Wealth of Nations' on youtube (as models of supply and demand will be mentioned extensively), I'm sure that there will be many summaries available. On the topic of videos, I highly recommend 'EconplusDal' - he basically makes videos on every single topic to help you, and he covers multiple exam boards. Hope this helps.
