Manchester BBSRC DTP 2024

Has anyone else applied to the Manchester BBSRC DTP? Or anyone who has gone through the application process and have advice to give especially about interviews? :smile:

Hi i did apply and i got offered an interview but I'm likey to reject this so i would not anything else apart from whats in the email. But my supervisor said they will practise me for it should i do it. so maybe ask your supervisor?

Hi! Yeah, I've had my practice interview with my supervisor -- they structured it as if it was the actual interview and asked me some questions that apparently gets asked every year

Do you mind sharing what kind of questions were asked?

Questions were first about your presentation (so the science + approaches).
Next they were about your qualities that makes you a good Phd student?
What makes a successful PhD?
The relation of your project to human biology if there is any at all.
describe your research in one sentence to a lay person (basically what your gonna do in. a nutshell)
These were the questions, i am sure they will change depending on the panel.

But yea that's about it. you can ask questions at the end as well.
