DPhil Funding--archaeology at Oxford

I've just received an offer for a DPhil at Oxford in Archaeology--does anyone have any experience getting funded for this? I don't know who to ask, and I'm also an international student so my hopes are rather low. It's said to take up to 10 weeks to find out if any funding will be allocated, and that they don't let you know if you don't get any, so I'm wondering if I should even really consider the offer as a possibility. I absolutely cannot afford to go without full funding, and the numbers do not seem to be in my favor as I wasn't able to apply for the research councils (due to applying to cam as well). Any experience or advice, or alternative grants to apply to would be appreciated!
