What uni is best for Film production? And interview HELP NEEDED!!!

I've applied to:

Leeds Met
Gloucestershire
York St John
Bucks
Arts Institute of Bournemouth (but didn't get in)

I was just wondering if anyone knows which ones the best for film? I do kinda have my heart set on Leeds Met but I'm scared I'll make the wrong choice!

Also, am I at a disadvantage applying from sixth form rather than college where people will have done more specialist courses?

Last question... I don't have a show reel as I have no means of making films at school or at home, let alone proper editing software. Instead I was thinking of taking my artwork, photos, essays etc. Does this too set me back in anyway?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

(Don't know if this is the right section)

Personally, I'm not sure on the universities, so I'll skip that bit! :p:
As for the other aspects, being at Sixth Form rather than college won't hold you back at all. I went to Sixth Form, and I was a very successful candidate, doing Media, Psychology and Politics. Which subjects do you do? I assume yours can show some level of interest or dedication, so you've nothing to worry about.
With media courses, as in the industry, grades mean little - you need to show your interest, passion and dedication. If you can do that, you'll be a success.

The same applies for your portfolio. Yes, it would be great if you could produce some example film work, but admissions officers realise that not everyone has access to the necessary equipment - show your creativity and interest in other ways and again you'll be fine. Photographs and artwork are very valuable, as are examples of writing.

Hey HTB11 !
How did your interview at Leeds Met go??? Im interested in the same course as you, but i STILL havn't heard from them yet which is a bit dissapointing. I did apply quite late though :s-smilie:, what about you?

What sort of questions do they ask, and what do they expect your portfolio to contain?

Also, have you heard from York St. John yet? Coz they gave me an unconditional offer which is aite

Cheers, really grateful if you could help, and might be seeing you in september if I get into Met?
