A level physics question Capacitance (2)

For this question I got all of them to be incorrect
The answer is D but I dont get why?DD4A76D0-E62E-45F7-A83C-EE7E4412F57A.jpeg

D. because 37% of 8.0V is 2.9V - it's true for all capacitor discharge circuits because e^-1 is 0.37

Thank you for you other reply btw it helped a lot! But for this question the switch is closed so why would the capacitor be discharging ? I thought the capacitor would discharge when the switch is opened again after it charged

Closing a switch means current can go through... So it's like the opposite of closing a door.

Omg Thank you! I didn’t even notice the circuit didn’t have a cell so of course the capacitor must discharge when the switch is closed

Yeah capacitor questions can be quite tricky and you need to make sure you understand the setup
