Re: The Halo: Reach Society [September 14th 2010]its just that I thought 3 was supposed to be the end(Original post by Ape Gone Insane)
This is the 4th proper installment (spread over a decade) and the first proper Halo game after 3 years. Hardly calls for a death, Vin...
Compare that to other franchises; Call of Duty (annual milking by two studios), Pokemon, All sports games...
then comes that RTS one and then ODST and now this

Re: The Halo: Reach Society [September 14th 2010]RTS, Halo: Wars, wasn't made by them. It was another studio and they had no control over it. Microsoft controls the I.P.(Original post by vin)

ODST was a simple expansion to Halo 3. Most games throw out expansions a few months after release but I have to admit it was overpriced which probably made it seem like a new game.
Halo 3 was the last one. This is a prequel to the whole trilogy, set in the same universe and featuring an entirely new cast of characters.
PS. I didn't know you had a 360

Re: The Halo: Reach Society [September 14th 2010]3 was the end of that story arc. ODST slotted in the middle somewhere between 2 and 3 so was still in the arc but not a fully fledged game.(Original post by vin)

Wars was not made by Bungie so really shouldn't be included.
And Reach is nothing to do with Halo (as far as we know) but carries the name because it involved Spartans and they aren't really branded in any other way
Reach is the last Halo game from Bungie (for at least 10 years) but more will come from partners of Microsoft Game Studio in the coming years. -
Re: The Halo: Reach Society [September 14th 2010]see that I understand, I wasnt being mean before I really thought 3 was supposed to be the last game of the Halo franchise(Original post by Ape Gone Insane)

Re: The Halo: Reach Society [September 14th 2010]Halo is to Microsoft what Mario/Zelda/Kirby/Metroid/Pokemon is to Nintendo.. Just hopefully on a more modest scale.(Original post by vin)
see that I understand, I wasnt being mean before I really thought 3 was supposed to be the last game of the Halo franchise

Re: The Halo: Reach Society [September 14th 2010]
Forge World is going to be awesome. Man, Bungie offer so much content for they amount they charge. [and if you want, compare it to other games].
Campaign, Firefight, Firefight versus, Forge, Forgeworld, Theater, Custom Games and Matchmaking.
And they have a refined File Share system, record/website record tracking system and party system.

We all knew it was coming and it goes without saying, I will not be too excited for any Halo games not made by Bungie. I can't see any other studio competing with what Bungie put into their games and offer fans. And no, that's not a Bungie fanboy talking.
Hm, not sure flashing will work with the Slim (as of yet) and things always go wrong with such procedures. My recommendation: get the Slim, an Xbox 360 High Definition Component AV Cable and Halo: Reach. Your Slim should come with 3 XBL 1 Months to use (free).(Original post by FinalFlash)
Is it worth getting the slim for this? or should I just buy a second hand old 360 (With HDMI) ?
Spoiler:ShowI was planning on asking my friend to flash it anyways
You can pick up loads of cheap games for the 360. GoW 1 & 2, Halo 3, Fable 2, Mass Effect etcLast edited by Ape Gone Insane; 26-07-2010 at 12:55. -
Re: The Halo: Reach Society [September 14th 2010]
Wow this game is going to be unreal. Can't wait.
Oh and also if you go to 4:40 in this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LEBuUj4GEI&list=SL) you can see "Powerups" in the menu =) -
Re: The Halo: Reach Society [September 14th 2010]Yeah, in forge they let you place Armour Abilities as powerups instead of choosing one at the start of the game. So you can pick up a Jetpack powerup.(Original post by lcmd)

(though I try to be strictly neutral
