when i was at home i was doing an apprenticeship so only got £80 a week so i paid £60 a month, which worked out at about £15 a week. but then i finished nvq, couldnt get another job so couldnt pay board so i helped out instead by keeping place tidy, doing odd jobs for mum and cooking for everyone sometimes.

When I was working full time during my gap year I gave my mum £160 every month. When I'm home for Christmas/summer etc. I don't earn very much so I cook, iron and do whatever I can to help out.
