Just to say, I know two people with offers for Geography and Economics and Government and Economics.

That is also for this year's cycle and they are not post-qualification applicants.

hey just curious as to what the two students grades were like - particularly the person who got into geography with economics as i hope to apply for this course too.

Conditional in October with AABC at AS and AABB predicted for a course with:

"Applications 2010: 158

First year students 2010: 26"?

Wow

i was surprised too, must have had an awesome personal statement and reference

But if there was only 26 students in the first year i assume they give offers to about 40-45 students
When I went to the LSE open day the guy there said they had a rougly 2.5:1 offers to acceptances ratio, which softens the impossibility of the whole thing a bit! I guess it must vary between different courses though, like I'd expect that to be lower for Economics for instance.

I am sorry but I truly DO NOT BELIEVE that anyone has had offers for lse yet!

They shouldn't hinder your chances at all.
Do i stand a chance at getting into LSE to study history?
GCSE - 6A* 3A 1B
AS - AAA (biology, maths, history) BB (chemistry and general studies)
A2 - [predicted] A* (bio) A* (maths) A (history)
Also doing an extended project in women's history and an extra qualification in spanish

Does LSE look into your background? I come from a very deprived area so to get the grades i've achieved was a massive achievement, my High School was in OFSTED special measures and my town is one of the worst in England.

I've done a **** load of extra reading and my personal statement is pretty good i believe but of course, LSE is extremely competitive.

Also, (sorry for being a pain) how would you tie Biology and Maths into a History degree ?
Thank you if you've read this!!

Well my situation isn't terrible, but it isn't ideal. In my AS year i had to transfer college after 6 weeks, completely change exam boards for every subject, catch up on all that work, whilst suffering from a serious illness throughout so it hasn't been an easy year... I wish i could explain on my UCAS about everything. I've fell in love with LSE :/
