Henry Price vs. James Baillie?

Hi all,
I just got accepted to University of Leeds for Spring 2012 (yay!) and was asked to apply for accommodation, so I researched some on here and have narrowed it down to Henry Price and James Baillie. So, I'm asking for some help!

I'm leaning toward JB because I want an en-suite room (we don't have them in the States as far as I know), but am a bit iffy because it's not on campus.
Also, how close is Henry Price to Headingley? From what I understand, it's a main student area and I don't want to have a long trek there/back.

Above all, I want a social dorm since I am coming in the Spring when everyone's already made friends and I'm pretty nervous about that. I'd also like a dorm with not many internationals (or Americans, anyway) because if I wanted to meet tons of Americans I'd probably just stay here haha.

If anyone could help that'd be great! Thanks in advance

I'm considering the exact same places and I arrive in January on a one semester exchange from Canada. At the moment though I'm leaning towards HPB cause I know a girl who just came but from an exchange and stayed at Devonshire but said if she was going again she would want to be on campus.

Okay, let me solve this for you.

I am currently at the uni of leeds as a fresher, and im in james baillie. One of my close friends is in henry price.

Im gonna start by saying that if there's one thing i regret its putting so much time and effort into choosing accommodation, because the reality is, as soon as you get here, practically everyone LOVES where they are put, even if it wasnt their first choice. (You will soon see). Sure, a few people have problems, but they get their issues resolved or they can swap accommodation within the first few weeks.

There isnt much of a difference between james baillie and henry price except in terms of location. As for me, im jealous that my friend can just roll out of bed in the morning and be at his lecture in just 5 mins, but travelling from james baillie isnt a problem at all. The only complaints ive heard about travelling being a big issure are from those who are at boddington or oxley.

They are both VERY sociable, so dont worry anymore about that.

Both have similar sized rooms and kitchens and all that.

Feel free to ask me any more questions =)

I'm thinking I want an en-suite but i know HPB is limited for en-suites. Is there a big difference in bathrooms? I would assume James Baillie would be better but is it a huge difference or something you can deal with in HPB?

I think so - you're about a 15 minute walk from campus and the apartments are quite nice - the kitchens have a kind of open-plan living room kind of thing with a couple of small sofas and chairs which is really nice.

Yeah i keep going back and forth but I think it would be nice there and it sounds like theres a lot close by and I keep hearing that it really doesn't matter where you are its more the people so I think I should just make a choice soon so I can worry about other things like how to pack for 6 months with 3 suit cases :s-smilie:

Okay, bear in mind if you put down either of these choices then you're unlikely to get them because they're so popular, so don't get bogged down in it.

We have washing machines and shops, and you'll find you won't need that much stuff. You could probably get away with about 2 weeks worth of clothes, a good coat, boots, trainers, heels and a laptop.
