hahaha I did the exact same thing. Events at Fisher look great!
Another thing I'm looking for as I'm checking them out is free breakfast on Sundays, what a gem!

Yay Fisher buddies! People say it's a bit grotty but.I think it looks ok... It's an awful lot cheaper than living next to campus in any case.

If you compare it to the new halls like Eastside/South side with their lovely en suites and fancy kitchens then maybe Fisher is "grotty" in comparison. I wouldn't call Fisher grotty though. It is fine and I know plenty of people who lived there and loved it.

Do eastside/southside have a really bad social life or is that just a lie? and do you tend so socialise more in your hall or at the union/out?

It's a lie. Your social life is what you make of it. Of of the halls organise some brilliant social events so there will be opportunities to socialise where ever. Personally I used to socialise more in halls, but again this depends on the person. You may meet your best mates in halls, or maybe on your course or perhaps your close friends will be people you meet in societies. So these things will influence where you will socialise more.

woooop! ahaha
I'm guessing you're studying Biology by looking at your username?

What other halls you thinking of applying to?
Filled in today  Gone for the extremes in terms of price... very excited for whichever hall I end in though! And finally, I've had 3 emails from Imperial in the past week- which is more than I've had since applying!

So weird reading that. Wilson used to be awful. It has just been completely refurbished so it should be awesome now.

Wow clever clogs! Actually three of my options are shared rooms. Bit scary but for the money it saves I think it's worth it for a year. Probably a bit opportunistic thinking this far ahead but I'd probably like to move back into halls in my fourth year so maybe then I'd try and stay somewhere a bit more fancy

Halls are first years only plus a few hall seniors consisting of second years. Imperial don't have nearly enough rooms for everyone.

Hall seniors can be 3rd and 4th years too .

You also get people moving in from other years to fill empty rooms when people drop out of halls.

ahah yeah I'm thinking of putting a few shared options
Definitely a bit of a risk but it does save money and mean I live a bit closer to campus ^.^

I definitely met a fourth year on the open day who was living in halls, I'm pretty sure you can apply to move back in, you're just not guaranteed anything.

Closing it down. Not sure if they have decided whether to refurbish it yet, or turn it into offices. There was a massive petition about it during the year. But it's not looking good. Shame really as the hall was close to campus and had some cheaper rooms.

Ah yeah that's a shame, I was going to list it as one of my preferences. Thanks for the info!

During the open days I only really went around Beit and saw a fair few en-suites.

What are the shared bathroom facilities like? Debating if I should go for an en-suite or not
