Helpx and workaway reviews

Travelling the world on a gap year 2015-2016. Helpx and workaway look reliable and safe, has anyone used either site before? Good or bad experiences, can I trust them?

Hello!
I a on a gap year myself and will be travelling from February to June with workaway. I already have two hosts (in the Yukon near Alaska and near Vancouver) in Canada and another one in the UK.
I first thought the site was a rip-off as nobody answered me but the truth is that few people make the effort to let you know wheter they need you or not. However, if you send loads of messages at a time, you're quite likely to find some nice jobs (I've even been invited 8-10 times... but practically only by people from Peru or Israel :confused:

Cant say much for workaway, ive never used them and from what ive heard, the hosts are far less reliable and id even heard it was some sort of scam, but ive used helpx and its legitimate, hosts are generally good, just please make sure anyone you stay with has reviews!
