Do I need to write my personal statement?

For my 'gap year' I actually want to attend university, only a local one doing a foundation course in fine art. I then hope to attend a university further away to do a 3 - 4 year course in animation in 2017.
I'd like to apply to both of these through my school, though I'm not sure how exactly. My school has offered no support and I want to know whether I need two different personal statements to apply for the foundation and the other universities as they're different courses, or whether I need a personal statement for the foundation course or not.
Could anyone provide any information on what I should do?

You can only apply to universities for the same point of entry, so you cannot apply to both these courses this year. You will have to apply for the foundation course this year, with an appropriate personal statement, then apply for your main course next year with a different statement.
