I know someone that applied to study Psychiatry at Oxford.. she didn't take psychiatry at A-level, and was given an offer of AAA. When the results came out, she got ABB, so her and her mum rushed up to Oxford, and they still accepted her...

I think it all depends how well your interviews go.. AAA is a standard offer for subjects like maths, physics, etc.. it's only really for stuff like English that they give lower offers, so they are going to be a bit lenient
There's no point in worrying about missing your offer because firstly it's just a really, really negative outlook to have; and secondly, if you miss your offer it's out of your hands anyway.

Relax, joy the summer, and believe in your ability.

Psychiatry is a medical specialisation..not an undergrad. subject!

I've heard the standard offer for AHs is AAB, so you would only be dropping a grade at that. Would your A be in Geography still?

ah right..doesn't seem to be the most popular of subjects, so that doesn't seem too surprising if she was good at interview etc.

Don't worry. They will accept you anyway if they like you enough; AAA offers in practice, but if you did pretty well in interviews and the exam you're probably all right. I'm *not* saying this without backup. The St Anne's people were really, really nice at the open day I attended

Is giving out an offer early in December a sign that they like the student?

Giving an offer shows they like the student... Don't pay any attention to the timing of it, it differ from college-to-college, subject-to-subject; for all we know that may be the last offer they gave out; not that it matter either way.
