What grading do you prefer? 1-9? A*-U?

maybe they use numbers so you can get a 'mean' grade or something.

so if you got 4 9s, 5 8s and a 7, your mean grade would be 8.3

so you can compare more easily??

A*-U purely because it sounds better and the numbers system just confuses people, it doesn't have the same ring to it.

B = Bad
C = Cretin
D = Dreadful
E = Execrable
F = Fallacious
G = Ghastly
U = Unacceptable

A*- U because it's easier to understand. Plus it's recognised by most people in the country.

I prefer A*-U, however (if I'm not mistaken) in primary school they're graded in numbers. Even just before starting GCSE's in secondary school it is numbers.

So it makes sense continuing the numbers until Uni where we use % (also numbers) until you finish a Module and then say 'I got a first' or 2:1, 2:2 etc.

Numbers are better. Some people think A isn't all that high but saying I got like 6 8s rather than 6 AS, shows more easily which side of the spectrum you are on.
