The Student Room Group

UCL Anxiety study (Monday and Tuesday; 50 minutes £7)

Dear all,

We would like to invite you to participate in a behavioural study that investigates the effect of anxiety.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
You will complete a computerised task in which you will make button presses and respond to different questions. You will complete some parts of the task under "threat of shock". This means that there will be conditions during which you may receive a mild electric shock to your wrist. These shocks are unpleasant, but not painful. You will also fill out a number of questionnaires. The session will take around 50 minutes.

PAYMENT:
You will be reimbursed £7

IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE YOU MUST:
-Be aged between 18-30.

-Be on time. Slots are booked the one after the other so please note that late arrivals may result in your participation being withdrawn without payment.

-Not have participated to a "threat of shock" study within the last 6 months.

-Given the focus of the study on healthy participants, we regret that we have to exclude individuals with a history of serious psychiatric or neurological disorders for now.
