Hsbc

Has anyone applied for a job with HSBC? I'm through to a telephone interview for their graduate scheme, and would appreciate any advice on what it will be like, the kind of questions I can expect etc.

Sorry I can't help with the telephone interview; I applied for their technology scheme based in Sheffield. I went through all of the online forms, then received an email with some results for an online test which I hadn't even done yet saying that I was unsuccessful. An explanatory email came the next day, explaining that there had been some sort of 'technical error' but then went on to say that I had actually been unsuccessful, despite not yet completing all of the online competency tests. Seemed pretty incompetent to me.

Oh no, that doesn't sound very good. I'm guessing you didn't bother questioning it again after that?!

Thankfully I've had no problems with the forms or the test so far, but I'm worried about this interview...

I didn't bother following it up after that, which is a shame as I was quite interested in their information technology graduate scheme.
