Do you accept your contract regardless of whether you want to swap rooms or live at the allocated residency? I'm unsure lol

I'm honestly not sure but the person I know who transfered had accepted his previous offer and swapped after semester one. Honestly, you can't swap before you start so you'll have to have somewhere you live regardless and I know many people who didn't get their first choice and grew to love their accomodation and the people! It's completely up to you what you do but these are the experience I know with it.

(also sorry for the super late reply, work has been insane atm haha)

Hi, was placed in Ellerslie Global. My preferred choice was Monty B but oh well. I was just wondering if I could take my Desktop PC to my accommodation. I'm asking this as my Desktop PC needs quite some desk space and I have seen some of the rooms in my accommodation have worryingly small desks. I'm going to be doing Computer Science so my question is, should I bring my Desktop PC or should I just forget about it and just bring a laptop instead?
just was wondering whether I should be worried or concerned at all that I still haven’t found any flatmates despite being on all Facebook/WhatsApp group chats:frown: (living in Lupton residence) did this happen for you/anyone that you know?

I was a fresher last year and found a few of my flat mates beforehand but not all - didn’t matter in the slightest when we all met in person so I wouldn’t worry about it!

ah I’m glad that not talking online beforehand didn’t make much of a difference for you, I’m probably just overthinking it way too much. thank you so much for the advice:smile:

Yeah like the previous poster said it doesn't matter at all! I did find most of mine online but we didn't even really talk all too much on it haha. It'll be awkward at first no doubt but you're all in the same position and I grew to quickly love my flatmates! It's super common to be worried and overthink this stuff, pretty much everyone does it, but you're all in the same position and an awkward group chat a few days before move in isn't going to make a huge difference haha.

hiya, I have a room available at burley road Campus living Villages. its £114.50 for 51 weeks, its about 15 min walk from the Leeds universities. if anyone interested please text me.
hii, i've just firmed uni of leeds as my first choice and im really struggling on finding any reviews/information on accomodation white rose view as it was only avaliable this year but im drawn towards it. i was just wondering if anyone has heard anything from anyone about it, especially about the social side or if any other residencies with a high social experience, besides JB

thanks in advance!!

Not heard much about White Rose View this year. JBP or Charles Morris is usually referred to as one of the most 'sociable' though - hope that helps.

Also, please don't abuse the anon function :yy:

I'm choosing between Henry Price, James Bailee and Montague Burton for my Leeds accomodation .

Which is the best for ....

1. social life/partying/easiest to meet people
2. not likely to be too oversubscribed

Iv'e heard Montague Burton can put you in flats of 4 and worried socialising will be harder there. Also is it okay having a shared Bathroom?

Iv'e heard that James Bailee is really fun but might have very druggy rep?? I don't mind a bit of that but not toooooo much as i dont rlly do drugs myself (but used to my friends doing)

Henry price seems good because of the big flats but I'm wondering whether having no common room makes meeting people harder / it is often to oversubscribed to get a place

To be honest I really just want to be with fun and open people who like to party and it not be too hard to meet people .... Thank you for any helpp!

I was in Montague Burton so I can’t speak for the other two apart from what my friends who were there said.’Monty B’ was amazing, definitely very social and a great location. Shared bathroom really was never an issue. One thing I did was to put on my application form that I wanted to be in a flat of 9 in the section where it said any additional requirements or comments.

James ballie and Henry Price are both usually massivley oversubscribed so if you don’t get in you could be put somewhere else that’s a bit rubbish. I had a friend in Henry Price who really liked it there and it’s obviously really close to uni and pretty socialble. James Baillie isn’t too far away either and is known for being sociable but also druggy. But I do think that the whole of Leeds is known for being druggy so you are likely to come into contact with drugs not matter where you are and it’s on you whether you decide to participate or not.

All three are good options I’d say, but at the end of the day I’d have to advocate for monty b.

Thank youu!!! This is so helfpful.
So I'm planning to attend leeds next year and I had a few questions about accommodations. I'd like to be in a house that's not too far from campus (law), and has a highly social atmosphere. I'm also completely fine with sharing a bathroom.
Hi does anyone know what the most diverse (in terms of how many people are of African decent) accommodation is I am trying to choose one one now and this is a big factor for me.
