Not owning a smart phone?

Hello,

About two weeks ago, I only found out Ed Sheeran doesn't own a phone anymore. I was wondering if there's anyone else on the student room that doesn't own a smartphone?

I am actually quite intrigued by this, I have an android and I'm due to start university next September, I am thinking about giving my phone up, I feel it will be more beneficial for me physically and mentally.

If anyone who doesn't have a smart phone, would you mind giving advice on how to give it up? I know the beginning may be hard to start of with but I'm really interested with this.

I've definitely seen a few people on here ask for advice on persuading parents to get them a smartphone, and others looking for a simple phone (not a smartphone). I would recommend getting a brick phone so that you actually have one for emergencies, but one that isn't addictive/fun to be on (remembering when I had one of those).
