gcse - finding the HCF & LCM

hello
on the maths gcse edexcel calculator papers, do i have to use the factor tree in order to gain full marks? this is because there is an calculator trick where you can automatically get the prime factors of any specific numbers so is it okay if i just write down the prime factors??

it depends if you get the answer wrong or right. using the calculator is fine, but if you get the answer wrong you will get 0 marks. if you write down your workings, even if they are wrong, you still have the chance of getting a mark. also, edexcel has this weird thing with some questions where the working out is required for full marks - if you just write down the correct answer, you could lose a mark if the question is worth more than 1 mark. hope this helps :smile:
