FRESHERS COUNTDOWN: Supporting you on your way to DMU!

Hi all! :hi:

I hope you are all excited to start your journey at DMU! Welcome!

The first week of university can be a stressful time, from navigating your way around a new place to your first lecture, but we have so many fun events to help get you settled in!

There is a lot to sort - and unpack (literally) - so finding time to relax a little and process everything is very important:bath:

To put you at ease here is a bit of info regarding joining us and that first Induction and Welcome week---

Welcome Weekend is Saturday 23- Sunday 24th September from 11am- 4pm and 11am-12 pm being our quiet hour! :popout:

This weekend is filled with a festival atmosphere where staff will be available to answer any questions you may have!:banana2:

We have circus entertainment, caricature drawing, and plenty of information stands! You can ALSO meet the DSU team and Student Ambassadors who are more than willing to help point you in the right direction!

We also have welcome stands from Monday 25th-Friday 29th September from 11 am- 3pm so feel free to pop-in and say hi at a time that suits you:happy2:
These stands (and our lovely staff manning the stands) will be in the Campus Centre to help signpost you to your faculties for induction talks and events. Student Ambassadors will also be there to share their uni experience!

We also have a range of social events taking place such as our Welcome Party, Pool Tournament, Rooftop Yoga, Ultimate Pub Quiz with Shaun Wallace from the chase, a bar tour, and so much more! There is something for everyone and it is a great opportunity to make new friends, explore the campus, city, and settle in! You can find our full list of events here: De Montfort University Students' Union Events (demontfortsu.com)

We have plenty of support for our students too! If you need anything feel free to reach out to our Student Support team. It is located on the ground floor of Gateway House. Here they can help with anything non-academic such as wellbeing, finance, and adjusting to student life!

We look forward to welcoming you at DMU!
