Home Officer Security Clearance pre-employment checks going through

Hello,

if one was to hand in his notices early from his job while his security clearance is going would this matter? would he need to let them know?

Hey there,

Depends on the level of security clearance. But likely not.

You'd only notify of further updates if there's a material change in your finances (good or bad) or anything relating to criminal proceedings.

If you're checks are for DV where you'll eventually conduct a interview, then there is a opportunity to provide updates as part of this interview.

It might be prudent to hold off from handing in your notice until you have the confirmation you've passed the checks or you're confident that you're reaching the end of these checks. Depending on the level these might take some time, although I'm not sure what you're circumstances are or any of the details.
