Whats the transport like in Newcastle is it worth bringing my Car?

Hi Evelyn,

My name is Alex and I'm a recent graduate from Newcastle University. I lived local so didn't move out for university, and chose to rely completely on transport links to get into the city. Our Metro links run through the whole of Newcastle and even further as far as Newcastle Airport and along the coastline. Many students choose to invest in a Student Pop Card which is a smart ticket which may save you quite a bit of money on travel if you're looking to use the metro/bus a lot.

You can find out more about our transport links and Pop Cards here: Metro | nexus.org.uk

Other than that, Newcastle is a super compact city so everything is pretty much within walking distance. The only time you would really need your car is to travel to and from home - otherwise it can be quite expensive to park in the City Centre. The choice is all yours though!

I hope this helps, and I'm happy to answer any other questions

Thanks,
Alex
