A-level English literature coursework - wider reading

Does anyone have any tips for adding quotes from wider reading/ critical studies into english lit coursework and still having the essay flow? I feel like when I add the quotes they seem really out of place and disrupt the flow of the essay.

Hi, my advice would be to pick out an area of a paragraph that you have written that you think best links to the critic and go from there
