I'm so confused between psychology and biotechnology

I'm currently a student who's about to go to uni ... I've mainly applied for psychology as my major but I'm so confused because although I love learning about psychology I have heard that it is a very competitive field and that if you want to do great in that field you will have to take advanced degrees which is equivalent to doing an MBBS degree coz it takes tht long to complete and be fully certified. Although I intend to follow my passion ... I do wanna live a comfortable above average life and I don't see myself achieving that goal by taking psychology. Moreover id like to get more clarity on whether this new found field of industrial organizational psychology is actually a degree worth enough to acheive a desirable salary .On the other hand I have recently come across biotechnology and I've heard it's a very lucrative and although I'm not as interested in biotech as compared to psychology ..I can see myself living comfortably and being content with my salary.
