Sounds nice. I have this funny mental image of a rich dude and he get an escort for the evening but just wants company whilst he's hanging out in London, seeing the sights and having a laugh with her lol.
Seeing sights and having a laugh? Yep, you're clearly clueless mate. It's more "Got a party to attend, need a hot young date for the night, don't have the time or the looks to attract one, but I DO have money. Escort agency it is!". Then once the party is over, they either part ways or trade extra cash for sex. That last part doesn't happen as often as you might think. Escorts get paid VERY well just for their time. They charge a LOT for sex at the end of the night. So yes, escorts are mostly paid just for their time - if sex is what the person is after, why on earth would someone that earns that much money be stupid enough to pay hundreds, if not thousands, to have sex when a prostitute does the same thing for a fraction of the price???

As I've said, not saying it doesn't happen. Invariably, a person will occasionally hire a date, take a liking to them over the course of the night and offer them extra in exchange for sex, which the escort may then accept or decline based on various factors. To say that all escorts are hired for sex though just makes ****ing ZERO sense. Pretty laughable to think someone assumed that I'M naive - quite the opposite, you clearly just don't even logic.

    Honestly, why?
But just having sex with random people? I honestly wouldn't do that for any money. ?
Why? Plenty of girls go out and do it every weekend, may as well get paid for it.

    There are two major things.

    1. I don't suppose you've had to finance your own lodgings and living expenses. If you perform the calculation, a modest lifestyle can easily cost £15,000.00/year post-taxes. If you're a full time worker earning £7.00/hour, you're only earning £14,500.00 or thereabouts gross-income. That leaves no room for holidays, emergency expenses, savings for a pension or mortgage, income-taxes, etc.

There's high anxiety and low economic mobility - in effect, wage slavery. The economic argument makes a lot of sense when someone has a lot of debt, or has a specific goal like a downpayment for a mortgage, or wants to live a better lifestyle.

    2. It seems you're under the presumption that there is no choice or screening or selection process, and the escort is obliged to accept all clients. This is not the case, escorts may choose to reject any clients she wishes, and has a lot of freedom with respect to what services she's willing to offer and what safety precautions she chooses to take (insofar as paying for a bodyguard in some instances).

She might choose not to discriminate based solely on physical attractiveness, because that would be like a waiter only serving attractive patrons, but she may exclude certain age ranges or backgrounds as it does involve consent. She may choose to only see hygienic, respectful patrons who don't chain smoke or have a 50 inch beer gut. She may choose to not provide services that physically hurt her, or otherwise make her feel uncomfortable.

It'll be quite a different discussion if you're talking about street prostitutes, where arguments about exploitation (involving some sort of implicit/explicit coercion) comes into play, as well as all the other risks like assault/battery/drugs/trafficking/STDs/etc are much more prominent.

Perhaps you don't have the financial pressures of these people, and sex is more personal to you. It's not true for everyone, and escorts can lead perfectly happy lives.
I do sort out my own finances. I am fully qualified and am on a decent salary.

Nope, I am not under that assumption. I am aware that they can reject any client for any reason, and reject specific services, and the client does not have to pay for services that they do not get.

I never said they don't live happy lives. And yes maybe it is because sex is much more personal to me.

Because it's better than working in retail.
It is more highly paid no doubt.

They probably do feel a bit of shame, but they're thinking about the cash all the time they're laid on their backs I can guarantee.

You seem to be confusing escorts with prostitutes. Not saying some escorts don't provide 'optional extras' but generally, they're not the same.
I would go as far to say that 99% of "escorts" have sex with every client. You're talking high end escorts that aren't doing that.

No useful skills, but they want a better standard of living than can be provided for by the low wage jobs they are eligible for.

Not necessarily true, some are well educated/well qualified, and do it on the side.

    1) That would be a very small minority
    2) The pay per hour for the sex work would be many times greater than the pay per hour for whatever regular job they could get, allowing them to have a much better standard of living.

I think you're slightly misguided on how much work some of these girls get. Girls charging £40 an hour aren't working constantly for 19 hours a day, most of them will end up seeing one maybe two men a day, if they're lucky. Agreed, £40 a day is probably more than some of these girls could make but it's not a gold mine for most by any means.

I don't know how my post is misguided. I said that the pay per hour for sex work is greater than the pay per hour for a regular job. I never implied that they were doing it for 19 hours a day. Also a quick google search suggests that £40 per hour is a bit on the low side.

That's rubbish. The TV docs where they interview high end escorts are all well and good, but that's not an average wage for a woman working as an escort.

nah, i'd say the going rate for most WGs is gonna be around the £250 per hour and getting 3 or 4 punters a day is about the norm i'd guess.

the difference between them and the high class girls is the high class girl only has to be with 1 man for the £1k

Ok so someone declaring themselves as available to work for 12 hours a day, 6 days a week even at £100 an hour, they're likely only to be seeing 2-3 people in that time, it works out at sub minimum wage, for the hour they're working, yeah great miles over minimum wage, but that doesn't work out at a great deal.

Throw a quick google search and check the low end. No chance are any of them pulling 3-4 men a day at even knock down prices. your estimates are way off.

The majority of escorts are high end. It's an industry aimed at the rich. Nobody wants to turn up to a sophisticated party with a cheap tart on their arm.

No they're not, as I said, run a google search, literally thousands of pages of <£60/h escorts.

I agree with your point if you want an escort you're taking out, then yes, spend the money, but most of the girls who bill themselves as escorts don't leave their flats much.
