If everyone just started being straight we wouldn't have these unnecessary problems. Jesus will judge us all when we die.

Am I allowed to call this bigoted? @Ante Bellum

1) MOGAI isn't that long, SAGA is shorter again

2)It is, just because it seems to be okay, it isn't. I'm bullied on a constant basis for not wanting to get with someone! In what universe is that not okay? Its a win/win. More people for you and yet again, I still don't care. We still get bullied, we still get opressed, we still get stupid comments thrown at us in the street. I act very, very gay with my friend even though we aren't dating it looks as if we are. We get shouts in the street like "Do you want to have a threesome" Is that right? Really?

3) Because its both more and less exclusive. Its a long story. I prefer SAGA for reasons see post 29

4) Queer is a reclaimed slur. If I can't be bothered with people, oh yeah, I'm queer btw. Queer is a way of not labeling a sexuality or gender so that the person using it understands who they are attracted to/ who they are and that the person they are telling it to knows they aren't cis or straight.

5) Pride is so important, it gives people the chance to socialise, find friends, find a support group. We fet to showcase who we are and people, if they want, can learn about the community. Also, they are so much fun!

6) Without tumblr, I don't think I'd be here today so don't underestimate the power.

Anything above 4 letters gets a bit ridiculous to say. When I ever need to (rarely) mention LGBTQ irl I literally just stop at "LGBT" because anything else just gets too long. From your post, SAGA seems to be a better name than almost anything suggested in the thread thus far.

2) You can't generalise your experiences by using 'we'. I have not claimed that anyone of a sexual minority doesn't face some form of harassment, but when people exaggerate it to the point that they feel the whole of society is against them, it becomes ridiculous. It's not ''right'' but it does not make all sexual minorities marginalised at all.

3) "Minority sexualities and genders" covers everything mentioned...

4) As Dec said, you're not labelling a sexuality...by using a label.... The label itself doesn't make sense either - you are either uncertain/don't want to say/insert sexuality here.

5) You've just described essentially every kind of community event ever. You can socialise and meet people at a carnival, a fairground, a raffle, a goddamn bingo place. If that's the only useful function Pride seems to be doing then it's no more different than many ordinary, community events.

6) That's great but I was referring to the SJW side of tumblr that have a consistent victim complex and are outwardly racist, sexist, ''heterophobic'' to straight, white men, yet claim such things aren't possible to justify their actions.

1) Okay thanks

2) Yes I can, if more than one person goes through it including myself, then we is the correct pronoun. The person sitting next to me is going through the same stuff hence the use of we, more than one person. Anyways, I never said the whole of society, I said some and some only.

3) Not really. It makes us sound weird and different to the norm by using marginalised, it just sounds horrible personally.

4) It reduces the need for multible lables. Maybe by specifing as queer they may be quoisexual or outside of the gender binary without feeling the need to define how they feel.

5) Apart from the fact that it reduces the fetisisation of the SAGA community?

6) Okay. Oh well

2) Once again, my issue was about the fact you can't generalise based on 2 instances. I am aware more instances of negative sexual attitudes occur, but to suggest that all of society is against minorities is rididcvulous.;

3) How is minority gender/sexuality negative lol? It's literally what they are... they;re sexualities...that occur only in a minority of the population...jfc.

4) So in other words it's just a fancy way of saying 'i'd prefer not to say'.

5) Please tell me how it paints sexuality minorities in a better light. I have been to a pride event before and it is everything that is strereotyped about sexual minorities (I'm going to reference homosexuality here as an example) - extremely camp, flirtacious people who go mad over drag queens. All these events DO is REINFORCE the differences between said people in society and highlight differences, as opposed to removing boundaries.

How is it bigoted to believe that people would be better off if they decided to repent from their homosexual ways and turn to Christ? It's called being loving and concerned.

What about peole that are trans* and ID as het?

...indeed. I overlooked that detail.
So many letters and acronyms. It feels as though there are new 'identities' appearing every day now, each sounding more made up than the last, unhappy that they're marginalised and not being catered to. It's getting ridiculous.

Remember the days when people were just straight or gay, he or she? Simpler times.

Neither. It was fine as GBT. Then the ladies from the island of Lesbos wanted in, so it became LGBT. More than that just sounds like an Antibiotic.

Many things here:

1) Both acronyms are ridiculously long now.

2) "MOGAI" is implying that ALL sexualities (except heterosexuality) are marginalised, which is simply not true regardless of the **** that tumblr spouts on an hourly basis. In many, many, MANY countries, homosexual/bisexual people no longer feel unimportant or devalued. This is tumblr's typical 'acting like the victim' complex again.

3) Please tell me why there is a benefit to using an acronym as opposed to just saying ''minority sexualities [and/or gender identities]'' which is more accurate and is an umbrella term to cover EVERYTHING instead of needing some ridiculously long acronym that people can't keep up with.

4) RE: Person who asked queer vs gay. I DON'T UNDERSTAND IT EITHER. Some girl the other day described herself as queer and in a relationship with a girl, so I asked if she meant lesbian/bisexual and she said she meant 'queer'. It just seems like a fancy way of saying 'I'm undecided' realistically, but hey whatever you want.

5) RE: Pride. I don't see pride as an important thing anymore, I guess moreso in England than other countries. There's nothing wrong with people hosting it, but realistically homosexuality has been a much much much less important issue in this country than before and so Pride events can't really claim to be actually doing that much anymore.

6) Yes the instant you linked a tumblr blog your point became invalid as it's SJW haven.

Everything you said is completely correct. I never understood the MOGAI thing. Sounds like more "we're victims" attitude than anything else.
The word "queer" is one pleasant sounding word to me. Orginally queer meant weird but like in a interesting way and now it can be seen as a insult which i don't get cuz lgbt members call themselves "queer" sometimes?

Tell me again how you know how I feel better than I do... Because I've spent a ****ing long time thinking about this.

But how you feel is bi. You said so in your first post, but just didn't use the actual word for some reason. There's nothing wrong with just being bi, it doesn't have to get any more unique than that.
