Male sexual abuse at the hands of women

http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/jun/09/breaking-wall-secrecy-sexual-abuse-men-women

Excellent article by Ally Fogg in the Guardian about sexual abuse men suffer at the hands of women.

As expected, the usual suspects of feminists and their fellow travellers have come out of the woodwork to deny that this is a serious problem and to assert that (like what they believe about female-on-male violence) it is always less bad than any crime that might happen against a woman.

The feminists make me want to throw up with their flagrant denial of the sexual abuse of males.

I read somewhere ages ago that 1/4 of women and 1/6 of men will be victims of some kind of sexual or domestic abuse at some point in their lifetime.
I think this is just another area where support for sexual abuse victims needs to be greatly improved. For both men and women, there is a culture of not-believing, shaming or mocking victims, and when it comes to male victims I think that traditional gender roles play a great part in their not being able to admit what has happened and seek help without mockery. We're told that men are supposed to be strong and silent, to "man up" and not be weak, and to admit that you are the victim of sexual assault implies that you have exhibited weakness. Thus we live in a culture where men who suffer sexual abuse (at the hands of men, or women, or both) are afraid to speak out and come forward lest they be shamed or not believed. Not that different from female victims to be honest.

I think the only way we can stop stuff like this is to address it as a whole; forget the victim-shaming and blaming, and actually listen to people who say they have been through this and offer them support and help. It's disgusting that people will disbelieve somebody has suffered a sexual assault because of their gender. I'm a feminist, by the way, so you don't need to tar us all with the same brush. Sexual abuse is sexual abuse, regardless of the gender of the perpetrator or the victim, and it needs to stop.
The word feminists makes me growl....

Sexual abuse regardless of gender is wrong.

hey, stop it!!
Which faction do you support today if you believe in prosecuting criminals who have been demonstrated to be guilty beyond reasonable doubt, despite any personal tribal connection you might feel with them, and leaving everyone else alone, regardless of any tribal antipathy you might feel against them?

At one time this seemed to be a position of overwhelming intellectual power, but does it still truly exist?
Sexual violence is wrong no matter the gender, the main problem is male sexual assault victims are stereotyped as weak in societies view men should be able protect themselves and that sexual violence should only happen to females because we are the "weaker sex. Both genders are responsible for peddling this myth that men are strong and women are weak,

Hahaha are you serious??

Women are just as bad as men. Don't act superior because you're not and you'll never be.

Don't pay attention to DimaTae

I have always believed that the sexual abuse of men is far more damaging than it is of women the worst form of sexual abuse of men is when they maliously and falsely accused of rape and steals sperm by lying that she taking the pill then trapping the man for 21 years of child support, the former damages a man's psyche and the latter violates him and makes mockery of his reproductive rights.
Male sexual abuse at the hands of men and women more often than not goes totally unnoticed ... but that's because men are too afraid to speak about it.

Well, she's right that women don't murder and rape as much as men. But men get murdered more than women do.

Who cares if she's right; why is that relevant to this thread Scholes?

Stop lumping all feminists together as if they are one homogenous group. There are plenty of feminists that will agree with you. It's like saying all socialists are Leninists.

Also this was posted on the Guardian which gets flack for being a platform for "feminnazis" Explain that one

from the article...

"The only correct response to learning about the prevalence of male victims is not to treat female victims as a lower priority, but all victims as a higher priority."

Job done, we can all stop arguing now.

Dunno, its kinda relevant. What she said is true, women aren't as violent as men, but of course when they are they should be punished the same. She seems like a feminazi though.

You could also say they're only less violent because they're so much weaker.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure men commit more violent crime even if you included that though. As I said though that might just be because women are weaker.

Too emotional :frown:

The pill isn't always guaranteed to prevent pregnancy use a condom or don't have sex at all if you don't want a child.
