"if you are given that angle there, there are couple of ways you can go about it. you need to know what component of the field is perpendicular to the velocity of the charge and so you would then need the cos of that angle and not the sign"




Why is it cos? I tried drawing triangles but I can't seem to get the component of the field that is perpendicular to the charge
