What if you fail after resitting?

Let's say that all of your GCSE results were under a D so you had to resit. After resitting you got the same results, what would happen? Would you resit again until you're old enough to work? Just curious.

Why would you need to resit for a D? Unless you wanted to go into sixth form

Frankly I forgot about apprenticeships, but let's say that somebody got all Us, then after a resit got all Us again. What would happen?

I mean possibly they may have to retake maths/English until they attain a C grade but apart from that I don't think anything would happen, as they can't really do anything to students who are just not as smart or don't bother
