well chemistry has a lot of maths in it so employers look for that making you able to do jobs outside of chemistry easily, many chemists end up as accountants and other positions outside of research.

I want to be in a science job though, its just i can't do medicine and i would love to work in a hospital, but I don't know much about what the biosciences lead you into because i know after that you can apply to do graduate medicine, but i wouldn't want to study all my life.

well biosciences can lead to pharmaceutical jobs in hospitals which you dont need a medicine degree for
Reply 4
What do pharmaceutical jobs involve?
could always do a biomed degree and work in hospital labs

I think you should stick to pharmacy/biomedical science or something. This can lead to Post grad medicine if that is what you reealy wanted to do in the future. I THINK getting into PG medicinw would be harder with a chemistry degree.

Generic TSR answer: Just do what you enjoy...
Go for Neuroscience. It's easily the most interesting field in the biological sciences (albeit the most challenging), and there's plenty of jobs to go round. Good universities like Nottingham only require BBB at A-level.

I guess you're doing them all at a-level? Think about enjoyment, then look at what options you have from that - there's a lot of cross-over courses and ones which pick bits from all areas (natural sciences for example) or just something like Biochemistry, Chemical Physics might take your interest. About the best thing you can do is grab some prospectus' or go on some websites and see what each course offers module wise.

There aren't a lot of degrees that stick you into something straight forward I don't think, most people apply them in different ways.

Chemistry will lead you into various areas of Chemical Industry, analytics (hospital labs for example).

Natural Sciences is a good idea as it means you can start with general science and then specialise in something that takes your interest later on.

If you are interested in working in a hospital you could try:
- biomedical science
- pharmacy
- nursing

Hi thank you for all your help, i appreciate it!

I have been looking into the biosciences and was wondering if anyone has done or knows about biochemistry, genetics, microbiology or physiology and what jobs these can lead you to? x
