It's my birthday next Thursday and mum's arranged a day out in London! We're going to go have some cakes somewhere nice in the morning and are then seeing Legally Blonde at the West End. After the show, we're going to that posh outdoor ice skating place that you always see in rom coms, and mum's going to buy me my first legal alcoholic drink in the Ice Bar place linked to it, ‘eyy.

I'll be in college on the Friday and then that evening, the annual Straw Bear festival (google it if you must) starts in my town. The festival is supposed to celebrate the start of the harvest (or something) by burning the straw bear on a bonfire... which gives the locals an excuse for morris dancers, markets, bands and of course a massive pub crawl :^_^:

That sounds fabulous! Hope you have a great day

Just as the title says, what did you do for your 18th birthday?

And if you didn't do anything, do you regret it? :s-smilie:

I got an attitude that my mom didn't like and got stomped on by her to get me back under her thumb again. Otherwise, no I didn't really do anything I think
Meal with the family in the evening and a few days later a meal with the friends.
gathered up as many people as i could for a traditional english night on the town, ended up throwing up over my brother's best mate, who then, with the help of my brother carried me the 30 min walk to my house while quoting from David Gemmell novels and earnestly comparing themselves to the characters. it was beautiful

My birthday is New Years Day, so I hired out my rugby club for New Years Eve until about 2, and then hit the changing room with a ton of beer. The group baths were pretty good

It was a Friday: Went to school, came home, sat on computer, went to bed, got on with life.

Nothing. I wasn't very popular, lol.

We clearly are kindred spirits :L
house party!!! disappointed i didnt get wasted.. but theres always 19th
Went out for a fancy lunch, then basically a pub crawl. Then a house party at mine, which ended with my friend taking cocaine in my bathroom and me going ape-**** at her. I mean my little sister uses that bathroom. It really made me mad.

At the stroke of midnight I had a whisky with my dad (specially opened a bottle of my favourite whisky just for then)
Didn't get up till maybe 2pm, then opened what few presents I had - three bottles of cider and a new guitar amp (a very very good one at that!)

So spent the rest of the day playing my amp and talking to relatives on the phone thanking them for cards etc.

Oh and went to the local with my dad for my first "legal" drink.
It's the only time I've been asked for ID in there too I think.
Had a formal meal in the best dining room with fifty of my closest friends and well-wishers.

Had a family party on the day, then went out with friends at night and got rather drunk then went to Rome for the weekend which was just lovely
Rented the top floor of the club where the uni football team had their Christmas party on the same night, and had like 70-odd people come along. It cost £100, which my parents paid for as one of my presents.
Went to a casino with m mam and then went out for a meal with mu husband (then fiance)

One more year to go
I don't really like having parties. I prefer going to them.
But the plan is to take some of my friends, the ones available, jump into the car and go camping in Amsterdam
When I finally turn 18, that is.

My 18th is on Saturday and is turning into something of a disaster. My best friend is very ill and might need surgery, one of my friends is miles away as it's still the Christmas holidays, some of my friends are busy and my granddad has cancer so I want to spend some of the day with him.

I have no idea what to do during the day. :frown: There are no shows on, I don't want to go shopping, I just have no idea what I should do ... I don't know why I feel so stressed about it, I was just excited about my 18th being on a Saturday, but if things keep going wrong my 18th will turn out to be just as **** as my 16th and 17th! :frown:

Anyone have ANY suggestions about how to salvage the day? I could go out for lunch and dinner, but what could I do between them? :s-smilie:

Ugh. FML.
