Its not rubbish... Mine isnt cut, and I know that when I'm in love making mode, the foreskin becomes the middle....
Jesus christ! as crude as this may sound, you need to look at some pictures of cut penis's
Flukey
rubbish! there is absolutely nothing wrong with getting circumsised. Your opinions are ludicrous and far out of proportion.

And i'll think you'll find if you read into it, it is medically SAFE and therefore yes it can be 'all that good'

Not ludicrous evidently, as the opening poster saw a show all about it the other night.

If its anything other than personal choice, its totally sick mutilation and the person inflicting it on another person should get charged with GBH.

but I know what happens to the foreskin normally...

Just because something has been around for years doesnt make it right.

Over the centuries the human race has got more and more civilised and realised the barbarcy in things.

Anyone inflicting that on someone else without their consent is totally wrong.

"proved to be very good surgical practice"

its also been proved not to be... !

http://www.menstuff.org/issues/byissue/circumcision.html

85% of the worlds male population is intact.
The US is the only Country that routinely circumcises their infant males.
Our country passed a bill to protect females from being sexually mutilated......WHY doesn't this bill protect males from being sexually mutilated.
What they don't tell you...........

10,000 + specialized erotogenic nerve endings are permanently severed and lost
240 feet of microscopic nerves
12 square inches of tissue if unfolded
The males looses about 40 % of his sensitivity
209 baby boys die each year from circumcision and related complications

and ignoring all that, we evolved to have foreskin for a reason....

Ok then - i agree your points are valid. Although i believe the benefits of being circumcised out weigh uncircumcised easily:

CLEANLINESS

It is easier to keep a circumcised penis clean. You don’t have to pull back the foreskin, which can’t be forced back until a male child is older. Good hygiene is a must for both the circumcised and uncircumcised.

URINARY TRACT INFECTIONS

Circumcision helps prevent urinary tract infections in both males and their female partners. Urinary tract infections early in life can lead to kidney problems later. Urinary tract infections account for a large percentage of “unexplained” fevers in uncircumcised males. It is a documented fact that uncircumcised males are 10 times more likely to come down with a urinary track infection than circumcised males.

SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES AND HIV

Studies in recent years have shown that the percentage of HIV and sexually transmitted diseases are lower in circumcised males. This is due to the fact that the foreskin causes an environment conducive to germs if germs are introduced.

CANCER

A circumcised male is virtually risk-free for penile cancer. However, for the uncircumcised male the chances of coming down with penile cancer are fewer than one in 100,000. Studies have also shown that women are at a greater risk of cervical cancer with an uncircumcised male partner. Another advantage to being circumcised as a baby is that an average of 4% of all uncircumcised males will have to undergo circumcision later in life due to inflammation of the foreskin or the foreskin adhering to the tip of the penis.

Once circumcision has taken place and the penis has healed, the risks of the procedure itself are completely gone. However, the uncircumcised male has to be concerned with the issues mentioned above, though those risks are minimal. Of course, there are many men both circumcised and uncircumcised who live their entire lives with no problems. Ultimately, the decision to circumcise a baby boy lies in the hands of his parents.

EDIT: Barbaric? blimey. Ok if i said to a doctor if they could circumcise me for a medical reason and the operation went ahead. Is this barbaric?

Come on, you dont seriously believe what you've quoted/posted do you?

That website doesnt even produce any evidence to back up its claims.
where is the evidence?

Just because they say its fact, doesnt make it so.

What a load of rubbish, its not less or more easier to keep clean than any other part of the body. Cleanliness is down to the person, not down to their bits. A parent should be proactive in teaching their kid how to wash properly.

Its a fact that you're more likely to get bacterial infections and things being circumcised as your 'hole' is more open to everything... (I dont know where you got that one from or where they did their case studies)

You must of really found some propoganda website there....
you dont seriously believe this one do you?

saying someone is more likely to get an STD or HIV due to what their bits look like is just as ridiculous as saying someone is more or less likely to get STD or HIVS because of what tattoos they have.

Thats utter rubbish as well. removing a peice of skin is going to do no difference in the cancer stakes.

They dont even really know what causes cancers.

Every week something new does.

If it was true, a lower proportion of circumcised people end up with that sort of cancer because.... Theres a really low proportion of people who have it done!

Ultimately, the decision to circumcise a baby boy lies in the hands of his parents.

^ and that bottom bit is the worst...

Ultimatly, Multilating your baby in any other way is an offence. This should be too.

And i said for any other reason than Constrictive medical reasons... It is barbaric. Anyways, why would YOU be going to a doctor to ask for them to circumcise you? it should be their recomendation if its absolutly necessary.

ALSO: Any decision anyone makes for themself, is absoultly fine.
Their bodies they can do what they want.

The mutilation of children is what is wrong.

There's nothing wrong with circumcision! I was circumcised as a baby as my Dad was religious then. I'm glad I've got it done and think it looks nicer.

Yes i quoted a bias site  http://nd.essortment.com/circumcisionunc_rmdj.htm

its actually advantages and disadvantages.

Yes i agree it is down to the person to keep it clean, but it is still far more hygenic to be circumsised as you don't get sweat, urine etc... stuck under the skin during the day.

Your view on this matter is ridiculous mate.

Ok not me in general. But one would go to the doctors and say "I have a tight foreskin" i mean their not going to know if you don't tell them! jeez
I respect religious practice and I I don't condemn curcumcision as such - i just don't see the point in it.
I've only ever experienced an uncurcumsised penis, so i can't make any comparisons in terms of sexual performance, but i think that a normal guy who cleans himself regularly shouldn't have any problems with hygeine in that area. My boyf centainly doesn't.

I watched a program tonight on BBC3 about circumcisions (male) and it's really opened my eyes. Basically the evidence presented pointed towards the conclusion that they aren't medically necessary or more sexually gratifying, but are really at best a way to conform and at worst systematic mutilation. So I just wanted to gather opinions on the whole thing. If you are male, are you circumcised or not, and are you happy with the way you are? What do people think they'll decide for their children?

what a ****** post.

they arent medically necasary?? fu. so if a baby is peeing blood because of a medical problem they shouldnt circumsice them, they should leave it be because otherwise its just systematic mutilation isnt it.

i think she meant its not NORMALLY medically necessary. Of course there are some cases where it is.

Uncircumcised is more attractive.
For you. There's a hell of a lot of cut porn stars!

A scarred penis is freaky. It's also a bit weird.
My penis is not scarred thank you very much. And I'm sure if you asked people living in couintries where circumcision is normal, they would tell you that uncut penis' are disgusting.

And unless you wash your penis every time you go to the toilet and every time you feel a bit swaety and everytime you have a wank, (and men don't) then it is less hygeinic to be uncut.
Reply 36
Female circumcision is a LOT different from male. Males don't get parts of their anatomy sewn up using thorns, to be forced open (often using a knife) on their wedding night. Even if you're just removing the clitoral hood, it's still much more damaging, and more frequently done badly and in unsafe conditions. Even if done surgically, it reduces their sexual function far far more than male circumcision does.

That aside, I have to say I don't see the point of it (apart from medical reasons) but I don't have a personal preference for men either with or without it done.

Yes, thank you scarlet_ibis, It was referring to the kind of medical reasons usually quoted for routine circumcision- ie penile cancer etc etc. They found the risk to be negligible. Obviously there are cases where it is necessary, nobody is disputing that.
