Student accommodation for people who applied late

Hi Ruby, I'm in the exact same situation. The only difference is that I just received an email today that I won't be getting a room in the Uni residences. What programme will you follow?

I applied late for Leeds accommodation and I've found myself in a position where I don't know when I'll find out if I get student accommodation. Does anyone have any advice on this situation? Is there anyone else in this position?

I'm so worried!!

I applied early for accommodation but I still don't know where I will be living. I'm worried because I'm an international student.

Hi! did you apply through clearing or were just late with accommodation? I got a place in clearing and worrying about where I'm going to live! They said I'm on the waiting list but I don't have much hope that they'll find me a place… Have you been looking at private accommodation etc??

I just applied late. Yeah I'm in the same position though but I'd just prefer if I did have to get private I was with other freshers. I rang last week and they said last year 40 people didn't get halls. I've not looked at much to be honest

Some private student halls are still available. If you don't want to stay in private properties, maybe take a look at Pennine House or Algernon Firth.

For private properties, I heard from some current students that it is best to take a look at the house before you sign anything, as there are more than a few fishy real estate agents in Leeds. I once talked with a Postgrade student, and he said that the school sometimes has temporary emergency rooms for students who arrive in Leeds without accommodations. (However, I would suggest that you email to check this out with the school accom people first about the school's temporary stays.)
