Can I do a PGCE in a subject other than my degree if I do a Subject enhancement cours

Just wondering?
My degree is in Marketing but I'd like to teach Psychology or Biology...

A PGCE is unlikely. Do you have A levels in those subjects? You could teach science if you have a science A level and trained through Teach First.

Other option is Primary. Doesn't matter what degree you've got then.

I don't think Psychology is not that much in demand and it seems to me that Psych teaching jobs don't really abound , meaning that you would have to compete with all the people with Psychology degrees (note: Psychology is one of the most popular degrees around and teaching is one of the most popular careers among psychology students) so it would be very hard to get in.

About biology, I think it that there is no such thing as a biology pgce or a biology teacher. What you have is a science teacher with a specialism in biology thus as a science teacher you must also know/master the other sciences (i.e. physics and chemistry). Seeing how marketing does not teach you any Physics or Chemistry, even if you held your own in Biology you would have to know about 2 subjects good enough to teach them. Plus if you were accepted in the PGCE, you would have to explain the reason for your Marketing degree even though you like science in a job interview later on.

Yeah I do! Unfortunately I don't have them at an A grade though so wouldn't be able to do Teach First.

Thanks for your help!

I was under the impression you needed a B grade.

This might sound a bit crazy but if you are determined to get in you could always spend a year studying and sitting the required A level to the standard required.
