For those who are doing AQA Physics Modular A, in the specification, it says "suggest why the new model very quickly became widely accepted..." (The model is the one of an atom that Rutherford created after the alpha particle experiment.) Does anyone know why?
Not sure - lol :s BUT I think it is because it explained the way that the particles were reflected back when firing at the gold foil????? I have no idea lol - I will check back later and see the answer from someone else.
I think it's because he had good proof that it was what really goes on in an atom, because the plum pudding thing, that doesn't work after he proved that some parts of the atom were "empty" space.
