Nursing Question

Hey, I have just a quick question. I am hoping to be doing nursing at university and then in the future take my career abroad. I have read though to work in the USA, that I will have to do general nursing. There are four nursing brances which are children's nursing, adult nursing, mental health nursing and clients with disabilities. I presumed adult nursing was general nursing, but I read that I would need experience in areas such as children's nursing etc. :confused:
