Hi,

I am really interested in joining the diplomatic service although having read the threads am still really confused as to how to go about this!?

I'm currently studying Criminology and Sociology at Liverpool uni and begin my third and final year in September so would I look to apply around that time for the Fast Stream..?

I was also thinking of doing a Masters, especially if this would improve my chances but am not sure if I would be best off to try and gain experience over academic qualifications.. I've not yet done any relevant work experience, only some volunteer work.. and am really struggling with how I would do this or where to apply to, can anyone help?

I am looking to learn a "difficult" language as advised.. Mandarin or Cantonese as I am studying China next year so I think this will link in nicely, but am wondering if this would be enough to apply to the Fast Stream straight out of uni or if I would be best in an admin position within the civil service to then apply internally..
