Warehouse AI

Apparently 60% of jobs in warehouse will be automated by 2030, surely this will mean lots of unemployed people?
Well you need to look at that compared to the rough figures of warehouses worldwide which are expected to rise near 50% from 2020--2030 Statista

Mildly curious why you are posting these from a sockpuppet account? It's not subtle.

So does that mean there will be more humans employed?

Virgin has just announced that will replace jobs with AI, Bt have already

Not specifically, but it mitigates the idea of a blunt 60% loss when you consider the whole 'pie' expands

When push comes to shove humans make pretty bad logistics drones and as much as I sympathise with anyone losing roles or forced to retrain, these jobs are NOT sacred or owed to people, likewise I'm going to object to sewers and plumbing because it puts people who collect buckets of **** by hand from homes out of work.

Frankly, if the only skill you had to offer society was the ability to move a box through a warehouse with no ability to evolve, past a point you'd need to ask why you expect others to favour your work over a superior automated method, eventually it sort of becomes begging rather than genuinely meeting an employers needs.

You’ll need a few more people to install and to maintain the automatic vehicles. Roles will change but it’ll be a while before we can spend our time enjoying leisure pursuits while robots do all the work
How long? 30 years?
