If you are looking for work experience in Year 12, consider these websites:
Student Ladder (Banking | Student Ladder)
Speakers for Schools (Work Experience Opportunities | Speakers for Schools)
Springpod (Virtual Work Experience Search (springpod.com))
Springpod has a huge number and variety of virtual work experiences as well, meaning you can conveniently do them online (it's a good alternative if you cannot find an in-person work experience).
Try checking the websites of major companies such as HSBC (they usually run their summer experience week in multiple locations in England, so watch out for those).
Furthermore, try speaking to the head teachers/careers staff at school, they might have relevant contacts or be able to help you with your search.
Finally, don't be afraid to reach out to the local companies yourself and ask for a shadowing opportunity in their office. It is not a proper work experience, but you will be able to learn a lot about the job and it will highlight your motivation on a personal statement.
