How to know if you’ve been caught cheating?

What happens when a person has been caught cheating in an in-person exam i.e, looking at someone else’s notes and the answers are similar especially in a computer exam? I was having a debate with one of my friends and they said that the invigilators would tell you straight away, but I think they would tell you after the results come out?

1) why someone have notes in an exam?
2) wdym similar in computre exam???
3) to answer ur question, if ur caught looking at someones paper in an exam, the invigilators will stop u right away

oh i see my wording of the question doesn’t make sense. i meant looking at someone’s paper on the computer screen when you are in a computer exam for example and you copy their answers. but yeah i also think the invigilator would stop you straight away rather than wait
