English & white - not good if you live in London

Original post by Parx
But have I asked for a 99% white population? NO. I simply want to meet more white people. In my day to day life white people is more like 5-10%.

Just go to Oxford street? There are lots of white people.
It's SO wrong that we should ever be the minority in our OWN country.

Now don't get me wrong, I've plenty of friends from ethnic minorities, a lot of whom are decent, respectable people, far better than the white trash you tend to see on Jeremy Kyle.

However, I totally agree with others on here who've said that people from places like Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Poland and other nationalities wouldn't put up with what we have to. We're way too ****ing soft. FACT.

Also it really pisses me off when people from ethnic minorities claim to be British/English. You're not. Don't you think that takes away the native's identity/offends them? Especially when some ethnic minorities who claim to be British/English partake in acts as disgusting/inhumane as 'honour killings'. Get ready to pull the racist card but actual British/English people have British/English ie WHITE ancestors. Sorry but that's how it is. Like it or lump it. If I went to live in their countries, I wouldn't get away with half the things they get away with here, and I'd probably be killed if I said I was Pakistani/Indian etc.

For ****'s sake, when will it end? I'm so sick of this overload of political correctness, multiculturalism bull****. It doesn't work. To a certain extent, yes, but not when it dictates absolutely everything.

If people come here to do what they want, eg drink, smoke, right to free speech etc then they should think again. Instead of running to us and claiming asylum/sponging off us, they should bloody well stand up and do something to change their own screwed up, corrupt countries. They should stop having so many kids as well, isn't two enough?? Maybe then they might have more money.

I've most likely come across as a racist, narrow-minded bigot, which I'm not at all, but hey, when you feel as strongly about something as I do about this you're labelled as such because strong opinions aren't allowed. It's damn hard to be as reasonable/passive as people expect you to be. It's that kind of attitude that's gotten us in this mess in the first place. I'm seriously considering a career in politics, put a cap on immigration once and for bloody all.

Rant/example of common sense over. So much more I could add but I doubt it'd be fully appreciated here. Don't mean to offend anyone but surely someone must see where I'm coming from. No?

Just to point out....there are white people/mixed race people in India with English names and etc who are descended from those that were there during the colonies. They consider themselves Indian.

( Yes, I read that BBC article today!)
To Q: Wow, obviously you haven't been to Welling, Bexleyheath, Crayford, Barnehurst or ANYWHERE in the DA area (South East London/Kent - Still London really) these areas are about 99% white! Anyway, it's sad that you feel that way because I enjoy socialising with people of all different cultures and nationalities.

Hello, just an observation, you call the actions inhumane and stuff so why WOULD you go to Pakistan or India and commit the acts you call disgusting? It doesn't make sense really, obviously you find it cruel so you would never even THINK of doing such things.

Amen! Don't worry, we're not alone. Just people don't want to speak up ... certainly not in public.

If you're referring to my post in your second point, what I meant was it offends the people here when the people from those countries that commit such acts call themselves English/British. We don't stand for that, it's not part of our culture/tradition etc. Obviously I'd never go to those places and do those things. I don't know how you seem to think that was what I said
Work hard and move to a 'better' part of london then.
I know you didn't say that. Don't worry. It's just that when you make these comparisions you don't ever have the MINDSET to do these things so you shouldn't compare yourself to the 'foreigners' who do commit such acts.

Um, I'm not sure which immigrants you've met who refer to themselves as 'English' or 'British' those who usually do so... Usually ARE 'British'... If they were born here anyway. Even if they do, why would it affect you in any way, whatsoever?

Umm yes, they are  If they were born here and pay taxes, they're just as much of a British citizen as you are.

You're correct, they are a *British citizen* - they are NOT British.

When you remove that enormous chip from your shoulder.

cas black/asian people don't have chips on their shoulder do they?
Considering every time I go to a multicultural/racial area I see groups clearly divided by race and economic status I don't see what is peculiar about the OP wanting to meet people of his own race and economic status. It seems human nature to me.

Now I've just read a post by someone (on a about the 4th page) and they describe a multiracial area as "exciting" and the 99% white area they lived in being "boring". Can someone actually give me a substantive argument on how it is more "exciting"? How does race play a part in that?

I personally don't have a problem with immigrants (I'm not saying every non-white is an immigrant here, but speaking facing the future) based on race (I'm far more interested in skills, or rather the clear lack of in many cases, and ability to speak even the most basic English) but likewise I don't see how it's a positive either. People, especially politicians, keep making these nebulous intangible claims about having a multiracial society being a good thing and I just don't see it. So please, someone present to me an actual argument on why we need non-white people in order for an area to be exciting/cultural/buzzword?

I would like again to reiterate, I'm not racist I just want to understand the argument. If decisions based on race are wrong (racism) and race doesn't matter- culture and personality do- why is it OK to actively argue for the presence of other races? Why must we have a mixture of races?

EDIT: I'm just asking the pro-multiracial/cultural side to justify the claims that it improves society.

I agree that I'm not in a position to compare myself to those who commit such acts, granted I don't know everything about their lives to make such assumptions. However it doesn't really reflect well on the rest of the people of that nationality, and a lot of people, myself NOT included, tend to see all people of a particular nationality as guilty if a number of them have committed such acts. Just how it is. That's life for you.

It doesn't really affect me personally, but I know it doesn't bode well with a lot of other people who don't like to be associated with people who commit such acts etc. People just don't like to see their culture/heritage being banded around and taken over especially one as powerful as England's/the UK's. Hope you see where I'm coming from.

The capital is going to be a mix. I live in Chelsea, so as far from the 'ghetto' as can be, but I don't actually expect the city to be very British. I've gotten used to it being a mix. To be fair, you'll experience the same going to NYC - expensive, polarized and international.
You are free to move if you want. Multiculturalism is, for better or worse, the future.

Yeah, I see what you're saying but it doesn't mean YOU MUST give in to these stereotypes of these particular nationalities. We're all different and are in control of what we do.

I see and I do understand, but the UK can still be powerful with or without immigration. The Empire became powerful because they went to other countries and 'claimed' them as their own not by asking nicely, but through force. Anyway, this isn't a History lesson, all I'm saying is a well balanced mixture is good every now and then. The English heritage is not being taken over, it's being modernised. Our history has got something to do with countries all over the globe in nearly every era! xD

Notice how all the black people went quiet on this.

Lol..yeh...All those white people are commenting on it though.

Anyway, I doubt anyone noticed if it is not on the last page or the first page.

They are a minority so they form their own group which expresses issues that may be important to them and may not be heard in a bigger forum. I am not sure what is so radical about this idea.

It isn't harmful at all. The argument is that if a group of white people wanted the same would it be allowed? Also, is further segregation based on race the way forward in a multiracial society? Seems to focus on differences, not similarity.

Can I ask you why a "mixture" of races is good/better? I'm not saying it's bad, but why good/better? Same with modernisation. I'm just trying to understand these claims I hear all the time.
