Why can't society accept that women have lower sex drives than men?

If they don't admit to it, how do people know how much they are masturbating?

Looking at the staggering amount of vibrators sold every year.

But really, the obvious answer is to get into a relationship and find out the truth for yourself. You're going to get a much more accurate picture than seeing what women would admit in an online survey.

The whole concept of slut-shaming has drove you to believe that women have lower sex drives when in reality, the risk of judgement for even having one is still prominent in society.

But at the same time men who do anything other than pump are told their sexuality is disgusting too. Men with fetishes or who use sex toys are labelled creeps and pervs while if women do it they are seen as anything from cute to liberated.

It seems men are well regarded if they have lots of sex due to notches on the bedpost and get a reputation as a good lover, but (like women) they're not actually supposed to enjoy their sexuality or be empowered by it. It's all about being a sex god, racking up the numbers and making women scream.

Some incorrect assumptions about me there.

My personal experiences are essentially irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. Surveys of people asking about masturbation habits are much more reliable than a few guys on a forum saying, 'yeah, seems like my gf masturbates a lot.'
I'm a woman and I'm telling you my sex drive is sky high, as high as any average man out there. It's not necessarily anything to brag about (not a bad thing either, just normal), but just sayin'. While I agree that in general men always seem to be more concerned about it, but please just don't lump a big group of people together, you'll never know, they are individuals not categories.

The easiest way to prove this is that there arn't many male prostitutes compared to female ones. There just isn't the demand for them.

What puzzles me is why this should be such a big deal? Whenever someone mentions that men, on average, have higher sex drives than women, it causes outrage.

But why?

Surely it's a good thing that females have lower sex drives. It certainly isn't something to get angry about.

Men and women are biologically different. So why wouldn't this shape behaviour?

Because we don't.
I should say it like this, in the form of a song about the matter:

and on the side, women still do have reasonable sex drives, it's usually just not quite as high as mens' because in nature we are able to **** easier because we never need to give birth, and we don't get our sex cells every once a month, so we have a lot of sexual potency and really we can **** endlessly, whereas women can't unless there're condoms and birth control...
the purpose of our species is to reproduce, so with biodymorphic members of the human race, our objective as men is literally to **** (and to gather food), and women's is to foster kids (and ****) - but obviously we live in 2014 where biology doesn't rule us, although it still influences us

How do you feel social conditioning has repressed your sexual drive?
It's really annoying tbh. I mean, I'm 17 and I haven't got the chance to do anything along that line but if a chance ever arised, I'd like to be able to take it without being judged. I don't really care because my friends are fairly liberal and I don't mind people who keep going on about self-respect, because frankly I have a hell lot of it, I just don't see how it correlates with my sexual activities. TSR people keep coming up with theories that clearly do not agree with the cases of me and many other women out there. I want to have sex but I have self-respect, I would never cheat in a relationship and let myself be ridden with diseases. Also, the thing about men are lads and women are sluts annoys the hell out of me as it strikes me as very unfair. Fair enough, I understand that there is a whole biological explanation and all but I just have the feeling that men use it to justify what they do and protect their egos by shaming the women who do the same.

Of course, sometimes you get people that just do it because they want something more, for money, or because of conformation, etc (that girl in Magaluf). To be honest, people like that ruin things for everybody else. A lot of men out there think that women don't enjoy sex as much, and I'm just sitting here screaming in my head "For ****'s sake, I do".

Not to mention a guy friend of mine used to tell me that men liked innocent girls because they are less likely to cheat. That statement flipped me out. Sure people have preferences, but this is an example of people just base their decisions on generalisations and stereotypes.

Sorry for mistakes and the lack of structure. I'm on my phone, English is not my first language and I went into a bit of a rant.

Think of the global population if women were the same as men in terms of how frequently they desire sex.

As much as us men folk deride the female sex drive it's probably served us as a species well.

Because we don't.

1. Who is this "we" you are writing about?
2. I am sure you are not arrogant/self-important enough to say you speak for all women or even a large subset of women?
Did you work in getting stats for sex surveys or female porn stars or prostitutes or something? :colone:

As mentioned before this thread started: http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2742215&page=6&p=48684912#post48684912

I will take further quotes from http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/cultural-animal/201012/the-reality-the-male-sex-drive
"a long process of slogging through hundreds of scientific journal articles reporting scientific studies of sexual behavior." Concluding with "In short, pretty much every study and every measure fit the pattern that men want sex more than women. It's official: Men are hornier than women."

I think this is obvious for sexually desirable women, whose bf/husbands still masturbate.
3. What's your knowledge/experience/"we" of this Tyrion?

Going to prostitutes is a different matter as female pros have said that husbands go there for validation that they do not get at home & legally it is Cheaper to Keeper! Another legal way the Govt. "discourages" men from divorcing.
---

I wonder if there is a link between people who believe in virgin shaming also believe that both sexes have an equal desire & availability for copulation?
I know some females virgin shame men, so it is like an initial form of control to conform men to worship the P...y. Or just an impulse shaming insult?

But these stupid virgin-shaming comments to young men can lead to female rape or male unhappiness like suicide or despising dateable women.
As if women are that important! Alas up to 30 years it seems they are & hormones make a difference.

http://restormedicine.com/hormones-in-men
Testosterone: bolsters muscle strength, energy, libido, lean muscle mass, mood and outlook, plus a range of other effects.
...estrogen levels rise in men around middle age - men can sometimes bond more deeply, be more committed and less controlled by powerful sex drives of earlier years.

Learning about this yesterday, made me unhappy; I can make a difference wrt misandry, but I can't completely turn off my desire for women, only control.

Edit: I think society does accept women have lower sex drives, it is just not comfortable dealing with the ones that do not, although that traditional thinking is less now.

A woman like you lives in a dream world if you like sex with no relationship needed, no emotional involvement, no guys who have to look like Bradley Cooper.... just sex for the sake of sex. Post an ad on any dating site and you'll get offers from hundreds of men, go to any bar or club, make a dogging invite in your local woods and you'll have an army show up even if you are 48 and obese, never mind young and decent looking. You could be ****ing literally thousands of different guys every year. To have the same sexual power on women a guy would have to be an A list actor or a rock star. The world is your oyster so make the most of it!

Because we have more self respect

Except that the majority of sex workers are women.
Women have sex drives just as high. They just aren't willing to do anything about it like men are and have a higher position in the market to exploit.

I think you've got a lot to learn about women.

Obviously women have evolved bearing the consequences of sex in a way that men haven't; it is the woman who has to carry a pregnancy for nine months and play the primary role in raising an infant. But this doesn't mean women thereby have a lower interest in sex it only suggests that women might have an instinctive caution about sexual encounters because of the consequences of sex. The Pill and other contraception has changed things but that evolved instinct won't just disappear over night.

So women have enough "self respect" to not use male escorts....

But are the vast majority of the prostitutes....

I can tell you're not the brightest bulb in the box.

Thats a truly bizarre claim. You honestly think that a complete stranger on the street/internet asking a couple of intrusive questions would know more about a woman's sex drive than her long term partner?

I can't tell if you're serious or joking.

That is not the claim I was making.

I am saying that a survey of a large number of women is more likely to tell us the truth about the average sex drive of the gender. Any one man will not have had anywhere near as many relationships as the number of women that can be included in such studies.

Lets do the maths.

Ask 10,000 women, get 0 truthful replies.

Have relationships with 10 women, get 10 truthful replies.

Which is the bigger number, 10 or 0?

Uh excuse me but I don't see how any of the things you just said has anything to do with my post. Not to mention that it's not very logic as well. You said I lived in a dream world, then proceeded to tell me that the world is my oyster? And no I don't want sex for the sake of sex, but for the sake of enjoyment. Furthermore, I do want a relationship, I just don't mind casual arrangements, same as many men. What is your problem? What's with the bitter tone?

Calm your tits down.

Not every women does that and most prostitutes do that because they're dependent on drugs etc. They have low self esteem and don't really see themselves as much and therefore wouldn't really respect themselves. If guys weren't disgusting enough to use prostitutes, then they wouldn't even consider it as an option.
