Which cell will go flat first?

Each of the cells can provide the same amount of electrical energy before going flat.

State and explain which two cells in this circuit you would expect to go flat first.

I got 2/3 marks in this question. The markscheme reads:

- Cells C and D will go flat first or A and B last longer

- current/charge passing through cells C and D (per second) is double/more

than that passing through A or B

- energy given to charge passing through cells per second is double or more

than in cells C and D ! or in terms of power

Would someone careth to explain the last marking strand. I

well power is energy / time

and

power is also volts multiplied by amps

so

since the emf of all those cells is identical the ones with the higher current will be developing more power.

since the amount of energy stored in all the cells at the start is identical, the ones developing the most power will use all their energy in less time.

there are imo several equivalent statements which could be made that should get the marks.

Great stuff. Thanks
