Help on projectile motion

Can someone mathematically prove that a ball released vertically and another released (projected) horizontally hit the floor at the same time?

Thanks!

projected horizontally?

Yes sorry, silly me. I forgot to add the word horizontally =.=

Yes. Just consider vertical forces and vertical motion and everything that you work out will be exactly the same - the acceleration, the time taken to hit the ground.

Use trig to work out the vertical and horizontal components(?)
a=dv/dt, v=dx/dt They both experience the same vertical acceleration so they both displace the same distance in the same time.
