I thought we're meant to draw a sin-like wave, but what does the 'vertical line' in the markscheme correspond to?

With the time base turned off, there is no progression on x-axis, so the sine wave collapses into a vertical lineon y-axis (with height equal to the peak-to-peak height of sine wave).
