i forgot to write the question number for the english literature exam

you get given a book with all the different texts and extracts and are supposed to mark it in the margin i did the question completely but forgot to write the number in the margin.will my paper not get marked?

I asked my teacher about it and she said that it will make no difference whatsoever. Those were her exact words. She said that as long as you are we’re explicit about your response to the question and it is obvious to the examiner which question you are answering you will be fine.

the problem is that i didn’t do it for the entire paper so u think it will still be the same? I am extremely worried now

Try not to worry. The examiners are specialists in their subjects. They will be able to work out which questions you have done.

i emailed my teacher and he said that they will the number is just to help the marker and they will figure out what question it is as soon as they read a bit of it

Yes because by mentioning poem names etc they will know which anthology you did for example. Try to relax. If you’re not satisfied with your grade your school can always retrieve your paper back on results day to see if anything went wrong. But I’m sure you will do great! X
